Guy Harvey Returns to Key West, Florida

Dr. Guy Harvey will be at the Guy Harvey Island Shop on Monday, April 14th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. available to personalize your purchases and to talk about his art, television series and marine research work at Nova University.  The Island Shop is located in the heart of Key West’s Old Town at 511 Greene Street (across the street from Sloppy Joes Bar).  If one cannot be at the Shop while Guy is present, please telephone in advance or visit our website.  Before we ship your order, we will have Guy personalize and sign your purchases. The Island Shop is part of a chain that began in December of 2006 in Marco Island, Florida.  Since then there are several locations being added to the map. The next location to open in April of 2008 is in Orange Beach, Alabama at the Wharf.  Along with the Shop, there will also be a 5000 square foot gallery of Guy Harvey’s master works-of-art.  Later in the fall of 2008, we will be in Panama City, Florida.  Anywhere there is the Shop, you will also find Guy Harvey’s Island Grill serving lunch, dinner and drinks.  We hope you stop in at any of our locations, say hello, shop a little bit, relax, have a drink at our boat bar and stay for dinner.

Rockers Wanted at Guy Harvey’s Island Grill

Are you going to be in Key West, Florida?

That’s right, play the guitar, the bass, drums or sing on the micrphone.  You don’t need a 4 piece band to rock out, just pick up the microphone and sing away.  If “Rock Band” is not your thing, just come in to enjoy a beverage and eats.

Happy Hour is twice a day at Guy Harvey’s Island Grill in Key West.  Early birds can get happy from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and for you night owls, 10 p.m. to Close enjoying 2 for 1 draft beers, Guy Harvey wines or well drinks.  The Grill also has a special “Late Night” menu for those who don’t go to bed at 9 p.m.   One can have the “Flying Tuna Melt” or the “Key West Jerk Chicken Breast” if fish does n0t do it for you.  Looking for some eats on the lighter side?  The “Island Style Fish Dip” or the “Island Grill’s Jamaican Jerk Wings” should suit that late night craving.

He also signed t shirts, prints and his book Portraits From the Deep.  He was his charming self as he talked to his fans about fishing, marine research and art.  The evening was lovely and successful.

The famous restaurant and shop group will be opening in Orange Beach, Alabama at The Wharf  (pictured above) in the Spring of 2008. 

Arrive by land or sea to ride the Ferris Wheel (voted Top 10 in US), attend a concert at the amphitheatre, play 18 at “The Golf Club”, shop at the best stores (one of them being Guy Harvey’s Island Shop), and enjoy a wonderful meal at Guy Harvey’s Island Grill.   There will be an inside and outside seating bringing together  260 seats, six saltwater tanks, a game area with several plasma televisions and an outside “Boat Bar” that will mimic a 44 foot boat.  The biggest edition to this particular Guy Harvey’s Island Grill and Shop location will be a 5,000 square foot Guy Harvey Art Gallery.  This won’t be any ordinary gallery.  This Gallery will feature all of Guy Harvey’s finest work, from originals, limited edition giclees and tile art.

Hooked Again: Monster Fish!

One of National Geographic’s more popluar shows is back and Guy Harvey is the star.   The show takes action at Zane Grey’s Reef in Panama.  And Guy Harvey does something no other human has accomplished. 

As the famous angler, Neil Patrick reels in a 15 foot marlin, Guy Harvey does a dangerous dive to tag this monstrousity of a fish.   As the marlin is fighting on the end of the line, Guy jumps into the water diving 40 feet to make contact with this enormous creature.  To see more on this episode tune into the National Geographic Channel.  The air times are:  Sunday, 10/14 at 9:00 p.m.;  Monday, 10/15 at 12 a.m.;  Sunday, 10/21 at 2 p.m.

October Events at Guy Harvey’s Island Grill in Marco Island, FL

October 14th:  Oktoberfest in the Esplanade, Marco Island 11 a.m.-5 p.m.  Guy Harvey’s Island Grill is supporting the YMCA.  Stop by and visit our tent.  We will be serving a variety of German foods and beer.  Admission is $5.00 and food items range from $ 2 to $ 3.  There will be children’s area set up as well as featuring a bounce house and sand art.

October 26th:  “The Witches are Coming”  Thirty-five women, dressed as witches, will be on a trolley parading around Marco Island restaurants for the Upon a Star Charity.  The parade of people will end up at Guy Harvey’s Island Grill (approximately 9:30 p.m.) to celebrate and enjoy live entertainment.

If you’re familiar with Key West, then you’re familiar with the many talented bands that we have.  Guy Harvey’s Island Grill has carefully selected some of Key West’s best & talented performers.  With a full calendar for October, you won’t miss out on the fun!

Spectrelles are back!  The famed Diva’s of Doo-Wop, Toni, Baby Tracy and Vivee will be performing…you guessed it, Guy Harvey’s Island Grill in Key West.  The Miami Herald describes the group as “Life Sized Barbie Dolls with the grace of The Supremes, and the hips of Tina Turner”.  The renowned group has a #1 hit record and has toured the world performing with such icons as The Coasters, The Drifers and Chuck Berry.  Performance Times:  9 p.m. to 1 a.m.   Dates:  October 4th, 5th, 11th & 12th 

Michael McCloud performs regulary at the Guy Harvey Island Grill.  He sings many songs that sound like Buffett could have written them.  He really does not like Buffett.  Anyway he has a song he wrote about 20 years ago and sings all the time.  It is called “Tourist Town Bar.”  It is on his CD “Greatest Hits.”  Well, Toby Keith was in town doing some recording at Buffett’s recording studio last year and they spent many hours at a particular bar listening to McCloud.  Now Toby Keith has a new hit that went all the way to the top of the charts.  It is call ‘I Love This Bar’.  The hit sounds a lot like ‘Tourist Town Bar’.  There is a law suite pending between McCloud and Keith.  Performance Times: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.   Dates:  October 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 27th, & 31st

Larry Baeder Band combines blues, jazz, country, R & B and funk with a Cuban twist and sometimes will blend all of these elements with in a phrase.  Baedar has spent a lifetime in the music industry as a sought after guitarist, arranger, composer, producer and musical director for some of the most legedary artist of our times.  Larry was inducted into the royal family of the blues world sharing the stage with the legedary kings (and queens) of music.  People like Muddy Waters, James Cotton, the Allman Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, and Dan “Elwwod Blue” Akroyd.  Beader became a memeber of the prestigious house band at the Apollo Theatre, where he played guitar for the legends of R & B and soul.  Acts like The Coasters and The Shirelles among many.  He toured with Bo Diddley, And Dennis Edwards, Eddie Kendrix.  Performance Times:  9 p.m. to 1 a.m.  Dates:  October 6th, 7th, 14th, & 21st

40 Foot Sharpie was formed in the late summer of 2006.  Vocals and harmonies have been the focus and have demonstrated by 2, 3 and sometimes 4 part harmonies.  Performace Times:  9 p.m. to 1 p.m.  Dates:  October 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th.

Welcome Guy Harvey Fans

Greetings from sunny Key West, Florida.  The Guy Harvey’s Island Grill and Shop located in Key West has now been opened for 3 months.  This is the second edition to the family.  The first born is in Marco Island and opened December 2006.   We will soon be adding to the family with several locations…top secret until we are officially under construction.  It’s a Guy Harvey epidemic!
